The COVID-19 pandemic has created a new reality in Canada – especially for children. Increased economic pressures put kids at risk of abuse. While health care systems focus on seniors and adults, vital services for children have been cancelled or postponed. And without access to school, children living in poverty miss out on much-needed nutritional programs like breakfast and lunch programs.
This week, Children First Canada is hosting a webinar to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on children. The Hon. Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, and our founder and CEO, Sara Austin, will be available to answer your questions.
Youth will be taking centre stage, raising questions and sharing their thoughts on how this crisis is impacting them and their peers and how to ensure the protection of their rights.
